In this post we will have videos, links, demos of fairly basic material related to making changes to images - explaining things like masks, layers etc.  - their uses and lots more.

To contribute you need to present a 10min. piece on your chosen topic and provide explanatory notes - which will appear here.

If you are completely new to PS there are tons of good YouTube videos out there.

                                              Layer  Masks I am going to do a little trial piece on Masks. Not sure where it will take me.
It must be basic, detailed and clear! Clear enough so that even I get it .........

What are layer masks?
A layer mask is a cover - a cover or mask that you can place on top of a layer!
When the cover is BLACK I cannot see through it
When the cover/mask is WHITE I can see through it.
Example;
1      Left is a Blue image in PS with its layer on right

   On Right I have added a Layer mask
How? Click the "Add vector mask" symbol (arrow)
It's in white which is see through. So I still see the blue image ......

3     I will now mask/cover the blue layer by filling the mask with black
       How?  You must select the mask first . How? Click on it
            Now Go to Edit/Fill   and select Black as the fill option

The blue image is masked out
We can no longer see it
and underneath there is nothing

{Those box grids are PS way of saying there is nothing here}
