Layer Masks I am going to do a little trial piece on Masks. Not sure where it will take me.
It must be basic, detailed and clear! Clear enough so that even I get it .........
What are layer masks?
A layer mask is a cover - a cover or mask that you can place on top of a layer!
When the cover is BLACK I cannot see through it
When the cover/mask is WHITE I can see through it.
Example;
1 Left is a Blue image in PS with its layer on right

3 I will now mask/cover the blue layer by filling the mask with black
How? You must select the mask first . How? Click on it
Now Go to Edit/Fill and select Black as the fill option
The blue image is masked out
We can no longer see it
and underneath there is nothing
{Those box grids are PS way of saying there is nothing here}
